After initially making waves on MJ’s feet during the 1996 NBA All-Star Game, the Air Jordan 11 Retro "Legend Blue" (also known as "Columbia") has made a long-awaited comeback after last appearing in 2014. Staying close to the OG from '96's design, the AJ 11 "Legend Blue" combines a crisp white leather build with fresh blue tints, a ballistic nylon tongue, and patent leather accents on the mudguard while embroidered Jumpman logos and MJ's signature jersey number "23" on the heel completes the design, atop an icy fresh semi-translucent outsole, offering the perfect balance of modernized style and nostalgia.

To highlight the release of the Air Jordan 11 Retro “Legend Blue,” we caught up with Swedish designer Simon Skinner at his Stockholm-based studio to take a closer look at some of his latest creations, blending the worlds of legendary design and modern art. Having placed his signature touch on everything from lighting to benches, sculptural explorations, and a series of limited edition handcrafted afro combs, Simon frequently takes heavy inspiration from his Afro-Caribbean heritage to challenge what Swedish design means to the world and who it represents.
